the sub genre is crime. the conventions of this sub genre include antagonists, protagonists, serial killers, kidnappers, rapists,chases, police and shootouts. the conventions we used were, kipnapping which is a key convention because it creates mysteriousness and creates a crime scene. another convention we used was the antagonist and protagonist, this is common in thrillers as it give the viewer a sense of hope for the protagonist to save the hostage.
